  • a large wing provides the power necessary for take off in choppy waters in light tropical wind
  • board width and length provides stability when waiting for a gust and makes easier paddling to shore if the wind drops out
  • wide-span foils stall at lower speeds and glide through the lulls
  • tune quiver for desired wind range; maybe two wings (e.g. 5m2 and 6.5m2) and a floater board; or
    one wing (5.5m/6.0m) and a small, high wind board and a longer, bigger volume board for light winds; or one wing, one board and a variety of foils
